Neil Pierre could miss key Philadelphia minutes if USMNT call-up lands
Neil Pierre has emerged for the USMNT, but a November call-up could pull the Philadelphia Union defender away during a playoff chase.
For fantasy managers, Neil Pierre (DEF, Philadelphia Union) suddenly has a minutes question if Mauricio Pochettino keeps him in the USMNT picture for November. The article says he is a regular starter for Philadelphia, but the Union are already locked into the playoffs and could be missing several players, while Pierre himself may join Haiti-bound squad uncertainty. In Kickbase, a defender’s value hinges on 90-minute starts and clean-sheet windows, so any international-duty absence cuts his scoring floor. Risk: Medium. Short-term monitor.
Fantasy Analysis
Pierre’s appeal comes from being a regular starter, but international selection is the only concrete threat in the article. If he is called, his availability disappears for the relevant window and so does his clean-sheet upside. In Kickbase, that makes him a hold-for-now rather than a buy; wait for squad news before locking him in.
