Messi keeps piling up MLS numbers after World Cup disappointment
Lionel Messi is leading MLS in goals and assists while remaining central to Inter Miami's attack.
For your fantasy squad, Lionel Messi (FWD, Inter Miami CF) remains an elite anchor despite Argentina’s World Cup heartbreak. He heads into the weekend with 25 goals and 15 assists, including a two-goal, one-assist outing against Atlanta United, and he now owns the league record for three straight 15-assist seasons. Because Kickbase rewards every 10 minutes played and attacking output, his combination of goals, assists and central involvement keeps his ceiling unmatched. Risk: Low. Long-term value intact. Hold or buy.
Fantasy Analysis
Messi’s value is driven by repeatable attacking volume, not just one hot streak: goals, assists and central involvement in Miami’s build-up all translate well in a 10-minute scoring format. Even without exact minutes data here, his role as the focal point means his floor stays high whenever he starts, and his ceiling is still elite. Prioritize him over volatile scorers who rely on a single event type.
