Messi escapes suspension for New England trip
Lionel Messi is eligible to face the New England Revolution after MLS’s good-behavior rule reduced his yellow-card count.
For your fantasy squad, Lionel Messi (FWD, Inter Miami) survives what looked like a one-match suspension and is available for Matchday 33 at New England. MLS’s good-behavior rule dropped his yellow-card total, so there’s no immediate minutes ban and no zero-point dead spot from a suspension. He remains a goal-and-assist engine, so his value depends on whether he starts and reaches full 90-minute scoring time. Risk: Low. Hold or buy.
Fantasy Analysis
Messi’s main fantasy benefit here is avoidance of a zero from suspension, not a confirmed starter tag. Because Kickbase scoring rewards every 10 minutes, even a late sub appearance would still matter, but his ceiling stays highest only if he starts and plays deep into the match. With his goals-and-assists profile, he remains a premium hold unless team news later suggests reduced minutes.
