Messi avoids suspension after fifth yellow
Messi hit five yellows, but MLS’s Good Behavior Incentive leaves him eligible for Inter Miami’s next match.
For fantasy managers, Lionel Messi (FWD, Inter Miami) dodging a suspension is a clean hold: the fifth yellow does not trigger a ban because MLS deducts cards after five clean matches, up to three times. That means his minutes remain intact for Matchday 33 against New England Revolution, which protects every 10-minute scoring block and his upside. Risk: Low. Hold.
Fantasy Analysis
This is a minutes-security win, not a scoring boost, but it removes the biggest near-term risk. Messi’s value in Kickbase comes from staying on the pitch long enough to stack 10-minute blocks, and this ruling keeps that path open for Matchday 33. Keep him unless you need funds for a much stronger multi-week upgrade.
